MACRON'S DELICACY

Emmanuel Macron was in attendance to watch France win silver in judo, gold in rugby sevens, and bronze in fencing.

Australia has won gold in both the mixed 10-metre air rifle team event and the women's cycling race time trial. They are now in first place in the medal table ahead of China.

'RACE of the Century'

The Australian Ariarne TITMUS defended her Olympic 400 metre freestyle title after the three world's fastest women in this distance engaged in a thrilling fight at the Paris pool.

The race was compared to the epic 200-meter freestyle men's "Race of the Century", which took place in 2004 between American Michael Phelps and Australian Ian Thorpe, as well as Dutch giant Pieter van den Hoogenband.

Caeleb Dressel won his eighth gold medal of his career when he led the U.S. Men to their second consecutive 4x100m freestyle title.

CANADA'S SPIRING SHAME

Canada's women football team has been docked six points, effectively knocking them out of the Olympics. They were caught using a spy drone to watch a private training session with their New Zealand opponents. The Olympic Committee of Canada said they were considering an appeal.

Bev Priestman, the Canadian coach, has been banned from coaching for one year.

SEARCH FOR RAIL SABOTEURS

The French interior minister has said that foreign involvement is possible in the attack on signal stations and cable sabotage, but it's too early to determine who was behind it.

Patrice Vergriete, Minister of Transport in France, told reporters that the high-speed rail system should return to normal on Monday.

EQUESTRIAN SCANDAL

Isabell Werth, seven-times Olympic gold medalist from Germany, said that equestrian sports require a culture change. The debate was sparked after a video showed a British rider whipping his horse during training.

RAIN POURING DOWN

The rain continued to pour down during the flamboyant opening ceremony of Paris 2024 on Friday. Wet weather conditions forced the postponement of the skateboarding contest.

The spectators were left frustrated when the tennis matches on the open courts of Roland Garros had to be cancelled.

Paris 2024 organizers are confident that triathlon events will take place on Tuesday as planned, despite the fact that Sunday's training swim may be cancelled due to concerns about the water quality of the Seine.

Misidentification

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has apologized to South Korea for introducing the delegation as coming from North Korea at Friday's Opening Ceremony.

OPENING CELEBRITY CONTROVERSY

The parody of Leonardo Da Vinci’s famous fresco ‘The Last Supper’ featuring drag queens at the Olympic Opening Ceremony sparked fury from the Catholic Church and far-right political figures, while its supporters praised the message of tolerance.
