One miner killed after tremors in Poland; one still missing

PGG, the mine owner, said that one miner was dead and another was trapped underground following a tremor in a mine in southern Poland.

The mine representative said that earlier, one of the workers was brought to the surface but did not give any information about his condition.

PGG CEO Leszek Pietraszek stated that 76 miners were brought to the surface and 17 taken to hospitals nearby, with one being seriously injured.

Aleksandra Wiesocka Siembiga, a PGG spokesperson, said earlier that the tremor took place at Rydultowy Mine at approximately 1,200 metres below ground level.
