The International Olympic Committee announced on Thursday that Allyson, who is the most decorated American track and field Olympian, as well as Jessica Fox from Australia, who won two gold canoe medals at the Paris Games was among the four new members elected.

After a vote by all athletes at the Paris Games, the retired Felix and Fox, both of whom won eleven track medals at past Games, joined German gymnast Kim Bui, as well as Marcus Daniell from New Zealand, who was a bronze-medallist at the Tokyo Games in 2013.

The term was eight years, ending with the Olympics in Brisbane in 2032.

The vote included 29 candidates from 15 sports. Reporting and editing by Clare Fallon; Karolos Grhmann.
