Posted to Maritime Reporter on July 23, 2024

The farm ministry announced on Friday that Ukraine has harvested over 13.8 million tons of grain so far.

According to the ministry, farmers have harvested 10.3 millions tons of wheat as well as 3.1 million tonnes of barley. In addition, 319.300 tons of beans were harvested.

Last month, the ministry increased its estimate for 2024's grain harvest from 52,4 million to 56,000,000 tons. The ministry said that the total crop, including oilseeds, could reach 77 million tonnes.

State weather forecasters have reported that extreme heat could lead to a 20-30% decrease in harvests of late crops across the central, southern, and eastern regions.

According to the researchers, 30% to 50% area of late-crops could be affected.
