Media reports claim that fitness guru Richard Simmons has died at the age of 76.

Multiple media outlets, including ABC News, TMZ, and TMZ reported that fitness guru Richard Simmons died at the age of 76.

Los Angeles Police were called after his housekeeper discovered him unconscious on Saturday morning. TMZ reported the police treated it as a "natural death".

Los Angeles Police said that it was unable to confirm the death of Simmons.

Milton Teagle "Richard Simmons" was born in Milton Teagle, a small town near Atlanta. The flamboyant fitness trainer became a household brand and pioneered the idea of gyms being able to accommodate people who were not already in great shape. In a series social media posts, he revealed that he was diagnosed with skin carcinoma.

According to his website, Simmons weighed 268 lbs (121.56 kg), when he graduated high school.

Millions of people were inspired by his story about struggling to lose weight. He tried everything, from fad dieting to laxatives, before settling for exercise and a healthier lifestyle.
