LSEG data: Sanctioned LNG Tanker Mulan headed to Egypt

Posted to Maritime Reporter on December 26, 2024

According to LSEG, a sanctioned LNG-tanker named "Mulan", that approached Novatek’s SAAM FSU floating store facility in Murmansk in December 21, is now sailing around Northern Europe on its way towards Port Said, Egypt.

The vessel should arrive at its destination by January 6, 2025.

According to LSEG, another LNG tanker "Pioneer" has entered the transshipment zones at the Koryak FSU flotating storage facility in Kamchatka.

The Pioneer and Mulan tankers are considered to be part of Russia's "shadow" fleet, which is involved in the transportation of LNG from the sanctioned Arctic LNG-2 Project.

Near the Russian port Nakhodka, East Energy (formerly Asya Energy), Nova Energy and New Energy are sanctioned LNG tanks. The LNG tanker La Perouse sails around Africa without a destination.

The Barents Sea is home to four more LNG tankers from Russia's "shadow fleet": North Air, North Sky (North Way), North Mountain, and Metagas Everest Energy (formerly Everest Energy). Guy Faulconbridge, Guy Faulconbridge (reporting)
