Traders said that three trading companies have so far been reported to be participating in the international bid of Jordan's state grain buyer for up to 120,000 tons animal feed barley to be purchased on Wednesday.

Viterra, Ameropa, and Olam are believed to have been the trading houses that participated so far. Traders said that no purchase had yet been made and the results would be expected on Wednesday.

The tender seeks to ship 50,000-60,000 tons of cargo in consignments of varying sizes in the second and third halves of December 2024, and the first and second halves of January 2025.

Jordan did not purchase barley in its previous bid for 120,000 tonnes of barley, which was held on October 2. Michael Hogan reports.
