Jordanian traders claim that Jordan has bid to purchase 120,000 metric tonnes of feed barley.
European traders reported on Thursday that Jordan's state grain buyer had issued an international tender for the purchase of up to 120,000 tons of animal feed barley.
The deadline to submit price proposals in the tender is 26 March.
The traders had anticipated a new announcement after Jordan's previous tender of 120,000 tons barley, which Jordan bought on Wednesday, only purchased 60,000 tonnes.
The new tender seeks to ship 50,000-60,000 tons of consignments between July 1-15, August 1-15 and 16-31.
The deadline for a separate bid from Jordan to purchase 120,000 tons milling wheat is March 25. Michael Hogan is reporting, and Louise Heavens is editing.
