Jordan purchases approximately 60,000 T of wheat at tender, traders claim

Posted to Maritime Reporter on August 13, 2024

In an international auction held on Tuesday, Jordan's state grain buyer bought about 60,000 metric tonnes of hard milling whey from optional origins.

They said that the wheat was purchased from CHS for an estimated cost and freight of $259.90 per ton, with shipment scheduled in the second half September.

The reports reflect the opinions of traders, and it is possible to estimate prices and volume later.

Traders reported that the following offers were made by other trading houses, per ton c&f, in the tender: Viterra $275; Al Dahra $250; Ameropa $255.87; and Farm Sense 282.40.

On Wednesday, a separate Jordanian tender to buy 120,000 tons animal feed barley will close. Michael Hogan (Reporting) and David Goodman (Editing)
