Jordan has 7 bidders in the 120,000 T wheat auction, traders claim
Initial assessments indicate that seven trading companies have participated in the international bid on Tuesday by Jordan's state grain buyer for 120,000 metric tonnes of wheat.
Participants are believed to include CHS, Cargill Al Dahra Cereal Crops Trading Buildcom Ameropa. Traders said that no purchase had yet been reported, and the results would be expected on Tuesday.
The new tender seeks to ship in combinations of 50,000-60,000 tons. Combinations of shipments are possible for April 1-15. April 16-30. May 1-15. and May 16-31.
Jordan bought 60,000 tons of wheat in its previous tender, held on January 14, at an estimated cost and freight rate (c&f), of $267.60 per ton. The shipment was scheduled for the second half March. Michael Hogan reports.
