The startup of Golden Pass LNG, the QatarEnergy and Exxon Mobil $11. billion joint venture liquefied natural gas job in Texas,. has been delayed by a minimum of 6 months due to construction. turmoil, analysts said on Thursday.

The task at the Sabine Pass site of a previous gas-import. terminal that was converted to process natural gas for LNG. exports, is one of two large U.S. terminals whose start-up had. been expected to substantially expand materials from the world's. leading exporter of the fuel in the next 12 months.

Golden Pass LNG's startup, nevertheless, was thrown into. doubt last month when lead contractor Zachry Holdings. applied for insolvency and quit the project. The plant was 75%. total and an upgraded conclusion schedule would be divulged,. Exxon then said.

On Wednesday, a regulative filing on a pipeline that will. provide gas to the plant said the current forecast for. startup may be modified due to Zachry's bankruptcy, without. offering a brand-new date.

The filing indicates train one will be online by the end of. June 2025, with trains two and 3 following in December 2025. and March 2026, analyst Zach Van Everen at energy financial investment. bank Tudor, Pickering, Holt and Co composed in a note published on. Thursday.

The first of three processing units was initially expected. to start processing this year, but was pushed back earlier this. year into the first half of 2025. The complete over 15 million. metric tons per year (MTPA) production was also at first set. for 2025, Golden Pass LNG previously stated.

Golden Pass LNG had alerted earlier in May of possible. impacts on building of the first three trains of the. task.

A business representative on Wednesday stated he had no upgrade. on a modified completion schedule or whether the joint endeavor. owners have identified a brand-new engineering, procurement, and. building and construction specialist.

Exxon, which owns a 30% stake in the project, was not. immediately available for comment.

In a March 21 problem filed in U.S. bankruptcy court,. Houston, San Antonio, Texas-based Zachry also said Golden Pass. was at least $2.4 billion over the initial budget plan for the. job.

Zachry independently submitted on Monday a notification to Texas. state officials that it had actually dismissed 4,072 workers tied to the. Sabine Pass project, according to a Worker Modification and. Retraining Notice.
