Freeport LNG, Texas, reopened on Thursday following its closure on Wednesday
According to data provided by financial firm LSEG, and a filing made with Texas environmental regulators, the U.S. liquefied gas (LNG), company Freeport LNG is on track to resume service Thursday following a shutdown on Wednesday.
Freeport is one the most watched U.S. export LNG plants in the World because of its history of changing global gas prices every time it restarts or shuts down.
As Freeport closed on Wednesday, the expectation of less gas flowing to LNG plants led to a drop in U.S. futures of 3%, a week-low, while expectations of a lower LNG supply led to an increase of 4%, a week-high, of European gas prices. (Reporting and editing by Alex Richardson, Chizu Nomiyama).
