Violette Dorand, 23 years old, became the youngest person to complete the Vendee Globe. She completed the exhausting solo yacht race around the world on Sunday.

Dorange finished the race in the 25th position after 90 days, 21 hours, and 37 minutes of sea travel. She beat the record that was set by the youngest finisher ever in 2016, Alan Roura. He had completed the 2016-17 Race after 105 day.

The Vendee Globe released a statement saying that "Her achievement comes about 24 years after her second place, which was achieved by the legendary British sailor Ellen MacArthur at the age of 24, who completed the race in 94 day, four hours, and 25 minutes."

The Frenchwoman finished 14th at the 2024 IMOCA Championship, a series elite offshore races that feature 60-foot yachts. (Reporting and editing by Christian Radnedge in Bengaluru)
