DFDS has agreed to purchase transport network from Turkey’s Ekol

Posted to Maritime Reporter on November 15, 2024

Danish logistics and shipping firm DFDS announced on Friday that it has agreed to purchase the international transport network of Turkey's Ekol Logistics, overturning a two-week-old decision to cancel the deal.

DFDS stated that the acquisition was finalized after renegotiating some terms. This included the amount of debt included within the transaction.

Torben Carlsen, CEO, said: "Given our revised terms, our well-prepared business plans and our strengthened network, we're well-positioned to grow and protect our Mediterranean business."

Both groups had agreed to the initial deal in April 2022, when they first began talking.
