China's Ningbo Zhoushan Port is one of the busiest in the world. State media reported that an explosion occurred on a container vessel on Friday.

According to state media, no casualties have been reported following the explosion on YM Mobility around 1:40 p.m. (0540 GMT)

China Central Television (CCTV), in footage, showed that the explosion caused cargo to scatter and a plume black smoke.

Ningbo Maritime Search and Rescue Centre reported that the ship was docked in the Beilun terminal of the port and transported hazardous goods.

The state-run Qilu Evening News reports that while the crew and dock workers of the ship were unharmed, some offices near the dock were affected by the shockwaves from the explosion. (Reporting and editing by Clarence Fernandez and William Maclean; Reporting by Ryan Woo)
