After failed negotiations with a major union, Canadian National Railway (CNR) and Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) have closed their rail networks across the country and locked out almost 10,000 workers on Thursday.
* Canada's Toronto-Dominion Bank announced that it would put aside an additional $2.6 billion for penalties relating to U.S. regulators investigating deficiencies in its anti-money-laundering program. It would also sell a part of its Charles Schwab stake to offset any financial impact.
