Brazil coffee exports reach record levels in October
Cecafe, a group representing the industry, said that Brazil exported 4,57 million 60 kg bags of green beans in October. This was the highest monthly export for Brazil.
According to Cecafe, the shipments of Brazil, which is the largest producer and exporter of coffee in the world, increased 10.5% from a year ago. It added that the previous monthly record had been set in November of 2020.
Exports of arabica increased by 7% on an annual basis to 3.7 millions bags. Meanwhile, robusta, a variety that is commonly used in the coffee industry for instant coffees and blends, grew 27% to 871 000 bags last month. (Reporting and writing by Andre Romani, editing by Kylie Madry.)
