Algeria issues new tender after claiming to have passed on 240,000 T of corn
European traders reported on Thursday that the Algerian state agency ONAB did not purchase any animal feed corn in an auction which ended on Wednesday. The tender was for up to 240.000 metric tons of corn only sourced from Argentina and Brazil.
ONAB announced a new tender to purchase 240,000 tons corn. Offers are due by Friday, November 15, the company said.
The new tender seeks corn shipment from Argentina and Brazil in six separate consignments of between 30,000 to 40,000 tons each. The tender also requested shipment between Dec. 1- 15, the same period as Wednesday.
Algeria doesn't announce what it bought in its tenders, and the results are solely based on traders' assessments. Michael Hogan reports.
