Algeria bids again for corn and feed barley traders claim

Posted to Maritime Reporter on August 27, 2024

European traders reported on Tuesday that the Algerian state agency ONAB had issued international tenders for up to 120,000 tons of animal feed corn, and 35,000 tonnes of feed barley.

The deadline to submit price offers for the tenders is August 28.

The announcement, traders said, seemed to confirm an earlier report on Tuesday that Algeria hadn't made a purchase at previous tenders last week for barley and corn.

Only three consignments up to 40,000 tonnes of corn from Brazil or Argentina are required by September 30.

The barley is available from any origin and can be shipped between October 1 and 15. (Reporting and editing by Jason Neely; Michael Hogan)
