JRC and Alphatron Marine have delivered new tugboat consoles for the new generation of Rotortugs. Offering full control from a sitting position and all-round visibility through full height windows, the Robert Allan designed ART 80-32 Hybrid tugs RT Evolution and RT Discovery have been fitted with the AlphaBridge tugboat console concept of tomorrow, a design study, performed by JRC/Alphatron Marine, together with tugboat operators from around the world.
Sonardyne Achieves Worldwide OHSAS 18001 Accreditation
Subsea technology company Sonardyne International Ltd. announced today that its UK sites in Yateley, Aberdeen and Plymouth have been awarded OHSAS 18001 Safety Management System Standard accreditation following successful audits at all three sites. The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has introduced new requirements for the fire protection of on-deck cargo areas. The new requirements, which will be added to SOLAS regulation II-2/10, apply to all ships designed to carry containers that are constructed on or after January 1, 2016. Ruling On BP Fine Over 2010 US Spill Months Away
It may be months before a final verdict is issued on the size of the fine BP Plc will pay under the Clean Water Act for its 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill, lawyers said on Tuesday after the last phase of the trial ended. U.S. District Court Judge Carl Barbier in New Orleans, Louisiana, is scheduled to receive post-trial briefs from government prosecutors and BP through April 24. Barbier might rule before then although a decision after all briefs are filed is more likely, the lawyers said.
ASRY Chosen by KOTC for 19-ship Repair Deal
