Inmarsat Powers Ahead

The landscape of the satellite communication business in maritime is changing dramatically, powered by an influx of new technologies and providers that aim to grab share of market from legacy companies. But as Ben Palmer, President, Maritime at Inmarsat discusses, legacy companies such as Inmarsat – a Viasat-owned company since 2021 – are legacy for reason, offering a framework of technology, relationships and unique solutions for the maritime space that are difficult to emulate. Palmer discussed the maritime satcom business trends with Maritime Reporter TV recently in Hamburg at SMM 2024.
