W&O opened a new office in Singapore, signaling its expansion in the Asia Pacific region. The company said the move into Singapore is an important milestone in expanding the global support network for its customers, as it now has 18 branches and additional 5 distribution points, strategically located to support customers operating globally.

“W&O has been exploring options to broaden our footprint into the Asia Pacific maritime industry, and as it is the world’s busiest transshipment port and the third largest by tonnage, Singapore was a seamless fit.” said Michael Hume, president and CEO of W&O. “W&O looks forward to serving new and existing customers in this important region.”

The new office is already up and running, and is well stocked with JIS, DIN and ANSI valves, including certified and actuated valves. In addition, Mr. Harold van Vugt, an industry veteran with over eight years of experience with W&O, is leading the Singapore operation and is working to create local expertise to assist shipyards and ship-owners with all their valve requirements. This includes new builds, retrofits, and repairs, as well as any other customer needs.

A longer feature discussing the company's overall strategy, as well as insights on the global maritime market was published in the November 2017 edition of Maritime Reporter & Engineering News, and can be found here:
