Munson Delivers Fireboat to Vancouver

Munson Boats announced its latest delivery of a 46’ Type IV Fire Emergency Response Vessel for the City of Vancouver Fire Department. Fully designed and built by Munson Boats in Burlington, Wash. the new vessel will operate in the lower Columbia River and can respond to incidents from Astoria, Ore. to Lewiston, Idaho.

Twin Scania DI13-77M diesels producing a total of 1,500 horsepower are coupled to Hamilton 364 waterjets to achieve speeds in excess of 32 knots.

The fire pump system delivers a maximum 2,500 gallons per minute (GPM) to eight fire hose hydrants and three available monitors. Powering the fire fighting system is a Cummins QSB6.7 diesel engine and Hale 80FCG 2500 GPM pump.  Two 1,200 GPM monitors are located port and starboard at the bow, and one remote operated 2,200 GPM Scorpion EXM Monitor is positioned on the roof.

The walk around cabin is outfitted with HVAC, sky view windows, workstations, storage cabinets, a refrigerator and an aft head compartment.

Navigation electronics include three Furuno TZ14 multifunction displays with 36 mile radar, black box sounder, AIS, Flir Voyager III infrared camera, 200W siren, VHF and 800mhz radios, and six wireless headsets. Live "dash cams" deliver real time situational awareness back to the station. A state of the art FLIR Voyager III infrared camera provides visibility in all weather conditions.
