Travelers Appoints Bill Queen as President of Ocean Marine

The Travelers Companies, Inc. announced that Bill Queen has been named President of Travelers Ocean Marine. In this role, Queen is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Travelers Ocean Marine business.



"Bill's extensive management experience has prepared him well for this role," said Jim Chapman, President of the Travelers First Party Group. "From underwriting and sales, to marketing and field management, Bill's breadth of experience and expertise makes him an excellent lead for this dynamic group."

Since joining the First Party Group four years ago, Queen has become increasingly involved with the Ocean Marine organization. In his new position, he will continue to build upon the business' strengths, services and commitments to its customers, all of which differentiate Travelers as a leading provider of ocean marine insurance in the United States.



Prior to this appointment, Queen served as Chief Operating Officer for Travelers' First Party Group, which includes the Ocean Marine, Inland Marine, Boiler & Machinery and National Property businesses. In his 26 years at Travelers, he has held leadership positions across the company in Personal Insurance, National Accounts, Small Commercial and Commercial Accounts. Queen is a graduate of Wesleyan University.



Travelers Ocean Marine provides highly specialized property and liability insurance products for maritime exposures such as international cargo transportation, commercial vessels, luxury yachts, port authorities, shipbuilders and numerous other unique risks. Travelers has earned a leadership position in this specialized industry segment and currently ranks as one of the largest Ocean Marine insurers in the U.S., based on direct written premium.
