Sea Star Line: Equipment Replacement Plan on Track
Company Receives New Refrigerated Containers and Places Order for New Genset Equipment
Sea Star Line, LLC began receiving the first of its new 100 40’ and 45’ refrigerated containers ordered as part of its equipment replacement plan announced in August 2014. The replacement plan aims to reduce the average age of the entire Sea Star Line refrigerated container fleet to less than three years.
The reefers have been fit with Carrier PrimeLine Machinery which is the most current technology available for refrigerated equipment. In addition, the entire Sea Star Line reefer fleet is equipped with an industry unique StarGuard remote reefer monitoring system which provides continual end-to-end visibility of the operation of the refrigerated unit while in the Sea Star Line cold chain.
Sea Star Line also placed an order for 100 new gensets in conjunction with its reefer equipment replacement purchase. The new gensets are PowerLINE 69G15 Tier 4 series manufactured by Carrier Transicold. The order consists of 75 underslung and 25 clip-on gensets. Anticipated delivery to Jacksonville of the first of these new units is mid-December 2014.
