“SUNY Maritime excels at educating our students to give them the knowledge and skills they need for a strong start in their careers,” said Rear Adm. Michael J. Alfultis, president of the college. “Applied learning has been our mission for 140 years and will continue to be the driving force to ensure our graduates are ready for the professional world.”

At No. 21, SUNY Maritime was ranked among the top colleges and universities in the nation for internship opportunities. It was the only SUNY college to be included on the list of 25 institutions.

The college also appeared on the “Best Northeastern College” and “Colleges that Pay You Back” lists. Those lists are unranked but instead include a collection of more than 200 colleges each.

SUNY Maritime is also in first place on the list of colleges whose graduates have the highest median salary 10 years after graduation, according PayScale, Inc.
