Van Oord Books Eidesvik Offshore Vessel for Offshore Wind Trenching Support
Dutch marine services firm Van Oord has, via its offshore wind subsidiary Van Oord Offshore Wind, awarded Eidesvik Offshore a five-year contract for its Subsea Viking multi-purpose support vessel.The contract, of an undisclosed value, will start in the first quarter of 2023, Norway-based offshore vessel owner Eidesvik Offshore said. ‘Boaty McBoatface’ Robotic Submarine to Visit End-of-life Oil and Gas Fields
The UK National Oceanography Centre (NOC) has secured funding from the UK Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), which will take robot submarine ‘Boaty McBoatface’ around end-of-life oil and gas fields. Forum Builds Advanced Submarine Rescue Vehicle
ROV manufacturer Forum Energy Technologies has completed the construction of what it says is a highly advanced submarine rescue vehicle (SRV), which may be utilized to extract submariners from distress situations.According to Forum, the LR-class SRV is capable of rescuing up to 17 people at a time and operate at depths of up to 600 meters. "The new model has increased power and an advanced auxiliary thruster control system that allows for speeds of up to four knots, enabling it to operate in high currents.
