Global Maritime Leaders to Convene in Dubai
Jannis Kostoulas, President Mare Forum visited to Dubai to review and discuss preparations for the upcoming First Mare Forum, Global Leaders Maritime Summit, Dubai 2014 to be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai & Chairman of Dubai Executive Council.
During his visit, Kostoulas inspected the venue and discussed topics relating to the logistics and other arrangements with Mare Forums partners in the Summit Drydocks World & Maritime World. He also held discussions with His Excellency Khamis Juma Buamim, Chairman DDWMW in his capacity as the Chairman of Summit regarding the ongoing preparations and the level of regional and international participation at the event.

It was agreed that Mare Forum Global Leaders Maritime Summit, Dubai will be held annually and will be the first event of the year on the Mare Forum calendar. It is expected the next event in 2015 will be larger than the current edition considering the attention that it is drawing from all quarters of the industry.
The comprehensive agenda drawn up for the Summit will cover wide-ranging subjects including world energy needs, challenges in the geo political aspects, trading patterns and alternative energy sources. It will also highlight a range of topics affecting the overall shipping and maritime industry such as ways of creating a profitable and sustainable industry base. Key decision-makers will be participating in discussions and will debate the pressing issues to arrive at constructive recommendations.
