Designed to be more ecologically friendly, the Ecolift 500 fleet boasts reduced consumption and lowered greenhouse emissions all while complying with the latest waste water requirements and ECA zone fuel requirements. The specifications of the Ecolift 500’s class include: heavylift gear, long hatch, flexibility, green passport, and state-of-the-art hold and hull technologies that meet all modern standards.
Industrial Skipper is the first Ecolift 500 vessel to deliver in Intermarine’s Fleet of the Future fleet renewal program. Vessels will continue to deliver until 2019. The size and configuration of these newbuildings’ holds improve capacity and flexibility for the worldwide trading of project cargo. The increased crane capacity and performance across the fleet will also speed up port time for cargoes.
Fleet of the Future is Intermarine’s fleet renewal and upgrading program. The program was established to secure the necessary tools to serve customers’ near and long-term needs with modern and efficient equipment. There are two additional models in the Fleet of the Future:
•Ecolift 900: 13,300 DWT, 900 mt lifting capacity, delivering 2017-18
•Ecolift 300: 8,500 DWT, 300 mt lifting capacity, delivering 2018
“For more than 25 years our customers’ global cargo needs have come first, so it is paramount that we continue the tradition of providing agile, specialized transport solutions,” said Al Stanley, President and CEO of Intermarine. “The Ecolift 500’s are designed to meet current and future transport needs and our newbuilding strategy as a whole facilitates continued growth and the ability to react to changing market conditions.”
“Operating a core of sister vessels that are the same configurations enable us to more quickly assess the requirements of our customers and the benefits of crews that are experienced and knowledgeable with our clients’ cargoes and the vessels’ capacity,” said Frank Fischer, Managing Director, Tonnage Procurement.
