Panama Canal Pre-Arrival Information
The Panama Canal Authority would like to remind its customers of the requirement to submit the 'Ship Due Information' through the Electronic Data Collection System (EDCS) at least 96 hours prior to the vessel's arrival at Canal waters.
The timely submission of this information is crucial to the implementation of the pre-arrival inspection process. Failure to provide accurate, timely and complete information may classify the vessel as "not ready", and may delay the vessel's transit and/or harbor movement until the information is received and the "not ready" status is lifted.
Additionally, all vessels over 150 feet LOA shall continue submitting Form 1743, "Pre arrival Vessel Information", including the vessel's visibility condition for transit or harbor, at least 48 hours prior to the vessel's arrival in order to avoid the assessment of additional fees due to late notification.
As stated in Advisory to Shipping A-17-2012, the visibility condition from conning positions 1, 2, and 3 reported in this document shall be expressed in ship lengths calculated for tropical salt water. This form has been modified to include information required for the pre-inspection process.
Revisions to previously submitted ship due information through EDCS are permitted at least 36 hours prior to the vessel's arrival. A notification must be sent to Arqueadores@pancanal.com.
Revisions submitted less than 36 hours prior to arrival may result in the assignment of resources based on previous information and the assessment of additional charges, if applicable.
