Fireboy-Xintex Brings New Tech to IBEX
Fireboy-Xintex said it will exhibit its latest technology developments at The International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX), including newly released carbon monoxide alarm system as well as a new series of fire suppression systems.
At IBEX, to be held October 4-6, 2016 at the Tampa Convention Center, Fireboy-Xintex is releasing its new CMD5-M Carbon Monoxide Alarm, which features an electrochemical sensor, compact design and a version that requires no external power to be fully functional.
Keith Larson, Vice President/Sales & Marketing at Fireboy-Xintex, is eager for boat builders to examine the battery powered version, hailing that it’s “an industry first” with no wiring required, allowing for easy installation and better cost effectiveness.
Regarding the electrochemical sensor, Larson notes its “state-of-the-art technology” which results in immediate and stable sensing and reducing false alarms. The sensor utilizes a microprocessor to measure carbon monoxide levels and calculates the Carboxyhemoglobin as a function of time to determine the appropriate alarm response.
Listed to the rigid UL 2034 Marine standards, the CMD5-M CO Alarms by Fireboy-Xintex offer quality, hassle free protection.
Additionally, Fireboy-Xintex will launch its new series of fire suppression systems: the CG and MA Series fire extinguishers feature the use of the 3M Novec 1230 Fire Protection Fluid.
According to the manufacturer, this clean agent offers very low Global Warming Potential (GWP<1), low toxicity in a properly designed system (no harm to personnel), no Damage to sensitive equipment, not targeted for emission reduction or phase-out and 3M Blue Sky warranty -20 year protection against environmental regulation.
The CG Series clean agent extinguisher is designed for smaller engine rooms up to 1,000 ft3 and deploys protection fluid from the nozzle automatically. The MA Series clean agent extinguisher was crafted for larger engine rooms up to 1,800 ft3 and deploys protection fluid from the nozzle automatically or manually with a Fireboy Manual Discharge Cable. Both designs in this series utilize a heavy-duty mounting bracket and are approved for Class B fires in engine rooms, machinery spaces, and similar industrial environments.
