Aker Finnyards Names New President

The Board of Aker Finnyards Oy has appointed Mr Jyrki Heinimaa as the new President of the Finnish shipbuilding company Aker Finnyards Oy. He will start in his new position on February, 16 2004
Heinimaa (38), LL.M., the present Senior Vice President, Finance & Administration, of the company has been employed by the company since 1996 attending first to the legal matters and since 1999 also for the financial administration. Heinimaa will for the present continue also as the CFO of the company.
“I very much appreciate the honor to continue Yrjö Julin’s work at Aker Finnyards. Yrjö has done an excellent work and created a good basis for the further development of the company. I am with great interest and enthusiasm looking forward to the new challenges”, Heinimaa said.
Erik Skogström (39), M.Sc, (Nav.Arch), Shipbuilding, the Senior Vice President, Production, of the company has been appointed as Deputy to the President and Executive Vice President from February 16, 2004. Skogström has been employed by the company since 1988 in various executive positions in sales and production. Mr Skogström will continue in charge of the production management.
