March 10, 2020

Renewables recruitment outfit ERSG has opened an office in Tokyo, Japan and has appointed Samuel Griffiths as country manager.

Samuel has lived in Tokyo for 20 years and has been recruiting in the Japanese market for more than 15 years, he is therefore ideally placed to head up their Tokyo office. He will be supporting the business in the renewables and engineering sectors across the APAC region.

"The Tokyo office compliments ersg’s first move into Asia via Taipei, Taiwan last year and cements their position as market leaders in delivering highly specialized local recruitment solutions to the global renewable energy industry," said a release from the specialist energy recruitment company.

According to IRENAs Future of Wind report Asia is poised to become the world’s dominant wind market, accounting for more than 50% of onshore and 60% of offshore wind installations by 2050. Asia’s onshore wind capacity could grow from 230 GW in 2018 to over 2,600 GW by 2050.

Commenting on Samuels appointment, Chief Operating Officer Lucien Sullivan said “with more than 15 years’ experience of recruitment leadership within the Japanese market, Sam brings a wealth of local knowledge to our new Japanese office and we are delighted to welcome him to the team”.

Samuel added “Given the rapid growth in the renewable energy market in Japan and across Asia, this is an ideal time to bring ersg’s outstanding network and capabilities to the Japanese market and I look forward to the challenge of leading this rapidly growing business”
