May 4, 2015

Celebrating a company milestone this week, VOSTA LMG notes it has been 50 years since the company started with the development and production of bayonet dredge ball joints.
The 50 years are a unique amount of experience for the dredge component and it overlaps a significant part of the total history of VOSTA LMG, which goes back to 1873 when the Lübecker Maschinenbau Gesellschaft (LMG) was founded in the German town of Lübeck.

The first steps in bayonet dredge ball joints were taken in 1965 in the Dutch village of Spaarndam at Stapel Shipyard, which was founded in 1903 and joined forces with Vos Machine Works to become VOSTA in 1993. Later, in 2002, VOSTA and LMG merged to form VOSTA LMG.
During the past 50 years the bayonet design was improved significantly by VOSTA LMG and developed into the Classic design that has become a standard in the dredging industry. In more recent years the standard range was extended with dredge ball joints that provide new levels of efficiency in regards to wear, flow resistance, power consumption and grease free operations, such as the Crossover and the Greenforce ball joint.
Today, with many ongoing developments in dredging technology, VOSTA LMG is looking ahead confidently to serve the worldwide dredging industry for the next 50 years with its wide range of dredge components, custom built dredgers and standard dredgers.
