National Response Corporation Acquires Boom-Tech
National Response Corporation has acquired Boom Technology, Inc. (Boom-Tech), of Gorham, Maine effective Monday, November 7, 2016. Boom-Tech has been a contractor to NRC for many years, providing support for a variety of environmental, industrial, and marine projects as well as large-scale responses as a member of NRC’s Independent Contractor Network (ICN).
Boom-Tech was founded in 2001 by Jim and Paula Fox, collectively they have more than 75 years of experience in the environmental industry. Boom-Tech’s initial focus was on prevention and cleanup of maritime oil spills, but they subsequently expanded to provide many other service lines including 24-hour emergency response for inland/offshore marine OHM spills, natural and environmental disasters, pipeline ruptures and industrial fires, and roadway accidents and railroad derailments. They further expanded services to include soil and groundwater remediation, facility and marine equipment/cargo decontamination, and tank services. Boom-Tech’s projects have ranged from routine boom deployment and maintenance for oil tankers in Portland Harbor to emergency response for large disasters and spills, including some of the more notable events such as Deepwater Horizon, Hurricane Sandy, and Hurricane Katrina.
