LOC Group Acquires SCUA Middle East Consultancy

LOC Group is pleased to announce the acquisition of SCUA Middle East Consultancy with effect from April 1, 2013.


This acquisition combines LOC Middle East and SCUA Middle East to form a team of nearly 30 staff, including marine engineers, master mariners, naval architects and civil/structural engineers with wide-ranging skills and knowledge. SCUA Middle East will become part of LOC Middle East, which will continue to respond to all types of marine insurance claims, casualty, loss prevention, engineering and energy issues in the shipping, oil and gas markets.

LOC Middle East is one of the region’s largest specialist marine and engineering consultancies. Led by Paul Miles, LOC Middle East now has three offices, with another scheduled to open in Mumbai in 2013.


Managed by Pat Cannie since opening in 1992, SCUA Middle East has grown to be one of the most respected consultancies in marine engineering & insurance claims across the region.


All current SCUA Middle East staff will join LOC Middle East and Pat Cannie will manage the specialist hull and machinery department. LOC Middle East will continue to serve SCUA Middle East’s existing client base and will provide the same level of service and response, with the added advantage of the wider expertise available within the LOC Group, both regionally and globally.
