Scania's Annual Service Competition Begins
Scania’s Top Team Engines competition-like training event for its service technicians has begun, bringing together participants from all over North America to develop their skills by combining training and teamwork while competing. And the resulting benefit for Scania customers is more effective service, the company said.
Scania Top Team Engines is a competitive training event developed to continually enhance the skills, knowledge, professionalism and teamwork for Scania technicians all over North America. The competition also helps attract skilled professionals to the industry.
“The Top Team Engines Competition is a great way to showcase the talent of our Distributor’s and their dealer’s technicians. It is a fun and competitive way to improve your skills through training and teamwork. I look forward to watching it continue to grow with each passing year,” said Mikael Lindner, President of Scania USA.
North American Competition
The first round of competition starts with a timed online exam designed to test the participants’ individual knowledge of Scania’s engines. The top 15 teams from round one will advance to the second round which consists of both theoretical and practical tests where each team will work together to complete various tasks. The top five teams from round two will advance to the final round of competition which will be held in March 2015.
Global Competition
The Top Team Engine Competition derived from Scania’s Global Top Team Competition which has developed from a national training event 25 years ago in to today’s global training program. The Global Top Team competition focuses on trucks and buses, where as Top Team Engines focuses solely on engines. This is the ninth time the competition has been held at an international level and it is growing larger with each year. More than 8,000 participants from over 60 countries will be trained in service-related theory and practice at Scania workshops worldwide during this year’s global competition.
