Prosafe announced it has signed a contract worth approximately $24 million with Shell U.K. Limited for the provision of the Regalia semi-submersible accommodation vessel at the Brent C platform in the U.K. sector of the North Sea.

The short duration contract commencing in the second quarter of 2016 will provide dynamically positioned (NMD3) gangway connection for the duration of the project.

The contract award follows the Regalia recently completing an assignment for Shell at the Shearwater platform.

The Singapore-flagged Regalia was built in 1985 at GVA Sweden to an enhanced GVA 3000 design. The vessel underwent a major 20-year life extension refurbishment and refit in 2009, and completed a five-year Special Periodic Survey and upgrade in 2014.

The vessel features 6 x 2.64 MW azimuthing thrusters and power generation from 19 560 kW (six diesel generator sets). With a lay down area of 380m2, work stations and conference rooms, Regalia offers good construction and maintenance support facilities. Workshop, laydown areas and work stations can be altered according to client requirements. Regalia has beds for 306 persons, a cinema, gymnasium, sauna and computer room.
