Solace Global ISO PAS 28007 Certified

November 5, 2013

Solace Global, one of the  world's most trusted provider of security in maritime, offshore and land-based environments, has announces its successful certification to ISO PAS 28007, Guidelines for Private Maritime Security Companies (PMSCs). Following its position on the working group, the company is one of the first to achieve the certification, which was developed in response to the demand for increased regulation of the security sector.

Since its establishment in 2010, Solace Global has been leading the way in all aspects of compliance, legislation and international standards and is one of the only PMSCs to hold the ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 accreditations. The company’s commitment to maintaining and improving its integrated quality management systems is further highlighted by its appointment of a company Standards Team and training of internal auditors which was completed in January this year.

John Simmons, QSHE Manager at Solace Global, commented, “Solace Global has long subscribed to the ISO system of certification which gives certain specific assurances to our clients, but also implies a wider ethos of commitment, maturity and responsibility.

“It takes time, money and resources to put effective quality, health & safety and environmental management systems in place that continually strive to improve a business. The introduction of ISO PAS 28007 specifies the requirements for a security management system and will in turn raise the bar for PMSCs and potentially make the selection process less time-consuming for clients.”

The certification by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) will be officially recognised later this year when UKAS completes its certification of all accreditation bodies. LRQA UK Business Centre Manager, David Derrick said: “Solace has clearly shown themselves as able to deal with the complex and detailed requirements of ISO PAS 28007 and in a relatively short timeframe. LRQA has provided a robust and challenging assessment of operations both here in the UK and in overseas locations and looks forward to working with the company in the on-going assessment program.”
