Moffatt & Nichol Hires Chief Software Architect

Brian Yoder has joined Moffatt & Nichol as Chief Software Architect at its Long Beach, Calif. office to help manage the software product development of FlexTerm, a simulation and emulation tool developed mainly for the container terminal planning, the terminal operating system testing, the logistic system modeling and optimization in ports and terminals. The software allows for better analysis of dynamic processes and visualization of operational processes through 3D animations. Moffatt & Nichol has successfully used FlexTerm on a number of terminals, including fully automated container terminals.
Yoder has more than 20 years of engineering management and technical expertise in web technologies, networking, security, simulation, high-performance computing and video gaming. Prior to Moffatt & Nichol, Yoder owned his own consulting firm where he provided business strategy consulting, architecture and hands-on coding for security, call center, social media and high performance computing clients. Yoder was also the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of US Networx, which provided network protocol analyzers and other PC-based tools and he was the originator of The Norton AntiVirus at Peter Norton Computing. He was also the Chief Architect at EarthLink.

Yoder obtained his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Central Michigan University. He is a member of the Los Angeles CTO Forum, a technical advisor for the investment network Tech Coast Angels, and serves on the boards of advisors of several technology startups.
