Aberdeen Harbor Names Harbor Master, Marine Manager

September 2, 2016

Aberdeen Harbor Board said it has completed the restructuring of its Marine Operations Department with the internal appointment of Captain Jeff Gaskin as new Harbor Master and Alexandra McIntosh as Marine Manager.

Gaskin, formerly the Harbor’s Marine Superintendent, has been appointed Harbor Master following the retirement of Captain Ray Shaw. Gaskin has 26 years’ experience within the maritime sector. He started his career as a cadet with Louis Dreyfus Shipping in 1990 and enjoyed spells with both PNTL and Cunard before ending his seagoing career with Vector Offshore in Aberdeen. He was appointed as a Marine Pilot for Aberdeen Harbor Board in 2006 before being promoted to Port Marine Superintendent two years ago.

McIntosh has been appointed to the new role of Marine Manager, a position that replaces that of Assistant Harbor Master, which was held by Captain Danny Stroud prior to his retirement. McIntosh joined Aberdeen Harbor in 2013 as a Vessel Traffic Officer, having previously spent almost four years as a Marine Pilot at Clydeport, and eight years at Maersk Line.
