SeaMobile Wins NOAA Contracts

SeaMobile Enterprises has beeen awarded two major contracts by the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). SeaMobile has signed a three-year contract to provide global VSAT satellite services to the entire fleet of ships operated by NOAA throughout the globe. SeaMobile has also been awarded the integration, installation, operations and maintenance of a 3.7m VSAT terminal system for the new NOAA ship, Okeanos Explorer. NOAA is an agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce and conducts environmental research and serves as the primary source of expert information on weather data, forecasts, warnings and climate change. SeaMobile will provide up to 21 ships in the NOAA fleet with voice and data access as a critical link while the ships are on research missions at sea.

SeaMobile Acquires Geolink

SeaMobile, Inc., a provider of at-sea communications, connectivity and content services announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Geolink, a pioneer and leading provider of satellite-based broadband communications and networking services with extensive experience serving the European market. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. During the past year, SeaMobile has quickly become the dominant player in at-sea communications services. In May 2006, SeaMobile also acquired satellite industry leader Maritime Telecommunications Network (MTN). With the acquisition of Geolink, SeaMobile now provides broadband satellite, wireless voice and data, internet connectivity, television and other services for more than 300 maritime vessels throughout the world.

SeaMobile Signs Deal with HAL

SeaMobile Enterprises, a provider of at-sea communications, connectivity and content services, signed an agreement with Holland America Line. SeaMobile will provide wireless cellular phone and PDA services for Holland America Line’s guests throughout the world. Installations of wireless broadband communications equipment will begin on board Holland America’s entire fleet of 13 ships later this year. The SeaMobile communications service will allow guests and staff of Holland America’s ships to use their own cellular phones and wireless PDAs while at sea. SeaMobile’s proprietary technology is a sophisticated IP/software based solution that works with any type of wireless phone (GSM, GPRS or CDMA) used by the guest when accessing the SeaMobile network.

SeaMobile, Crystal Cruises Sign Contract

SeaMobile Inc. signed an agreement with Crystal Cruises to provide communication solutions for its guests throughout the world. SeaMobile will begin installing wireless broadband communications equipment on board two luxury Crystal Cruises ships, Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony, later this year. The SeaMobile communications service is designed to allow guests and staff of Crystal Cruises to use their own cellular phones and wireless PDAs while at sea. Charges for calls and data services will then appear on the user's wireless bill from their home carrier. The simple-to-use, high-quality service is expected to complement a host of luxury services aboard the Crystal Cruises ships.

Trico Marine Names New Senior VP

Trico Marine Services, Inc. announces the appointment of Larry D. Francois as Senior Vice President of Operations. Prior to joining Trico, Francois served as President of Seabulk Offshore, a subsidiary of Seabulk International, Inc., for approximately three years where he was responsible for their worldwide offshore operations. Prior to his tenure at Seabulk, Larry served as area manager of domestic offshore marine operations for Tidewater, Inc. and prior to that assignment was a division manager for Zapata Gulf Marine Corporation in Mexico. SeaMobile Buys MTN for $168m

According to reports, SeaMobile, a Seattle company that provides cellular and wireless service on cruise and cargo ships, acquired a Florida-based competitor, Maritime Telecommunications Network. The $168m all-cash deal, announced, will boost SeaMobile's position in the growing market to keep travelers and industry connected using the same devices they carry on shore. Seamobile Acquires MTN

SeaMobile, Inc. has acquired Maritime Telecommunications Network, Inc. (MTN), a provider of satellite-based broadband communications and networking services for the maritime industry. The acquisition has been approved by the Federal Communications Commission. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. “SeaMobile saw a strategic opportunity to combine the wireless and satellite expertise of the world’s leading maritime communications companies to completely change the way travelers communicate at sea,” said William D. Marks, Chief Executive Officer of SeaMobile. “Cruise travelers can take their own cell phones, Blackberry devices and laptops, read their hometown newspaper, watch live TV, access bank accounts through onboard ATMs and much more.

SeaMobile, Oceania Cruises Sign Agreement

SeaMobile Inc. has signed an agreement with Oceania Cruises to provide communication solutions for its guests throughout the world. The first ship in the Oceania Cruises fleet to deploy the SeaMobile advanced wireless services will be the line's flagship, Regatta. Guests and staff aboard the ship will be able to use their own cellular phones and wireless PDAs while at sea, just as they do on land. Charges for calls and data services while at sea will simply appear on the wireless customer's bill from their home carrier.

Mobile, Broadband Offered for Cruise Ships

A joint venture will provide bundled broadband and mobile communications services for cruise-ship passengers. CapRock Communications and SeaMobile announced the service that will allow passengers plying the seas to stay in touch with those on land using their personal cell phones and other mobile devices. The satellite-based service also delivers encrypted business applications that can be used in concert with the vessels' wired communications systems. SeaMobile CEO William Marks said in a news release that the service would be available to other commercial ships as well.
