Seajacks Lines Up Transport & Install Work for WTIV Nessie

Eneti announced on Monday that its subsidiary Seajacks UK has signed a contract with an undisclosed client to transport and install offshore wind turbines for a project commencing in the first half of 2025.The contract will be performed by the company’s first of two NG16000X wind turbine installation vessels (WTIV) currently under construction at Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) in South Korea. The vessel, to be named Nessie, will be delivered by the shipyard during the fourth quarter of 2024.

Offshore wind installation company Eneti said Tuesday it has terminated talks with a shipyard in the United States to build a Jones Act-compliant Wind Turbine Installation Vessel. HMP Buys Two 'Eco-friendly' VLCCs

The Arab Petroleum Investments Corporation (APICORP), an energy-focused multilateral development financial institution, and the National Bank of Fujairah (NBF) signed a five-year $108 million debt finance facility with Hartree Maritime Partners, LLC (HMP), the shipping affiliate of Hartree Partners, a global energy and commodities firm, with the aim to help boost maritime sustainability.The facility, in which APICORP acted as the Mandated Arranger and Facility Agent, will be utilized to finance HMP’s purchase of two eco-friendly very large crude carriers (VLCC).

FPSO Demand Booming: 10 Units Expected to Be Ordered in 2022

More FPSO contracts were awarded in the second quarter of 2021 than during the whole of 2020, with Rystad Energy expecting FPSO awards to reach a total of 10 units in 2021. NOV to Equip Eneti's New WTIV

NOV announced it has been awarded contracts for the design and the supply of equipment for a wind turbine installation jack-up vessel (WTIV) being built for Eneti. The new offshore wind player Eneti, formerly known as Scorpio Bulkers, ordered the WTIV from South Korea builder Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) in May.Scheduled delivery in Q3 2024, the self-propelled vessel will be a NG-16000X design engineered by NOV subsidiary GustoMSC to feature increased carrying capacity and lifting capacity, as well as a higher lifting height above the deck.

Wärtsilä Wins VLGC Cargo Handling Systems Order

Wärtsilä was contracted to supply another of its gas cargo handling systems. The order was placed by Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) in April 2021. The Wärtsilä system will be installed in a 91,000 cbm capacity Very Large Gas Carrier (VLGC) vessel being built for a tanker operator.The system includes a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) reliquefaction system for cargo condensing and an automated control system. Delivery of the equipment is scheduled for June 2022.

Castor Maritime Buys Kamsarmax Dry Bulk Carrier for $14.8M

Dry bulk shipping firm Castor Maritime has struck a deal to buy a 2010 Korean-built Kamsarmax dry bulk carrier from an unaffiliated third-party for $14.8 million. Finnish technology group Wärtsilä announced Thursday it has secured a deal to supply dual-fuel engines for six new 172,500-cubic-meter capacity liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers being built by South Korea's Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) to serve the Arctic LNG 2 project in Russia’s Arctic waters.The icebreaking gas carriers were ordered by Russia's Sovcomflot and Japan's Mitsui O.S.K. Lines in October 2020, and each ship will be fitted with six Wärtsilä 46DF dual-fuel engines, plus gas valve units and auxiliaries.

Scorpio Sells an Ultramax

Scorpio Bulkers has reached a deal to sell another Ultramax bulk carrier, making good on the company's plan to exit dry bulk shipping for a new focus in the offshore wind market.The shipowner said Thursday it has sold the 2016-built SBI Phoebe to an unnamed third-party buyer for approximately $17.65 million. The Liberian-flagged vessel is expected to be delivered to its new owner in the first quarter of 2021.The transaction is the latest in a string of bulk carrier sales since Scorpio announced in August that it would pivot away from dry bulk shipping toward a new role in the offshore wind services industry.Scorpio has recently sold eight bulk carriers and has contracted to sell 17 more, all of which are expected to close in the first half of 2021.

Scorpio Bulkers announced it has sold another bulk carrier, marking its seventh ship sale since revealing plans to pivot away from dry bulk shipping toward offshore wind services.The Monoco-based shipowner said on Thursday it reached a deal with an unnamed, unaffiliated third party to sell the 2016-built Ultramax SBI Zeus for approximately $18.5 million.Since September 28, Scorpio Bulkers has also sold SBI Hera, SBI Phoenix, SBI Samson, SBI Conga, SBI Sousta and SBI Rock. Scorpio Bulkers Sells Two Ultramax Vessels

Scorpio Bulkers, Inc. announced Wednesday that it has entered into agreements with an unaffiliated third party to sell two 2017-built Ultramax bulk carriers for approximately $34 million as the dry bulk shipping company continues its transition to offshore wind services.The ships, SBI Phoenix and SBI Samson, are expected to be handed over to the unnamed buyer in the fourth quarter, Scorpio said. South Korean shipbuilding firm Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) has earlier this month delivered a floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) to Excelerate Energy.The FSRU, named the Excelerate Sequoia, is Excelerate Energy's tenth FSRU vessel. All ten FSRUs were built by DSME.The vessel has a storage capacity of 173,400 cubic meters and is capable of operating as both an FSRU and a fully tradable LNG carrier, Excelerate Energy said. In September of last year, Excelerate and Maran Gas Maritime Inc. (MGM) signed a five-year bareboat charter agreement (BBC) for the FSRU.
