As competition continues to escalate within the offshore energy industry, major players often differentiate themselves by offering improved and innovative services to customers. For Brazil-based NorSkan Offshore, an offshore supply vessel company, delivering exceptional quality and responsiveness to its customers is its top priority. NorSkan recently entered into a multi-year agreement with CapRock Communications of Brazil to receive reliable, turnkey satellite communications services.

While communications providers are a dime a dozen, reliable providers are few and far between. In an effort to ensure the communication solution it deployed would deliver the same level of quality and dependability it is known for, NorSkan conducted in-depth research by speaking with fleet owners that use both CapRock and competing services.

NorSkan will use CapRock’s satellite solutions to support a variety of operational initiatives such as increasing safety measures for customers and employees, improving logistics and response times and enhancing crew morale. Under the terms of the agreement, CapRock will use its global network infrastructure to deliver communications services out of its Brazilian teleport while interconnecting with NorSkan’s corporate headquarters. Additionally, CapRock will provide local service and support from one of its 10 international support centers located in Macaé, Brazil. NorSkan’s fleet of Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessels, primarily located in Campos Basin, Vitoria Basin and Northeastern Brazil, will use broadband service to support applications such as real-time streaming video, e-mail, Internet access and telephone service.
