Metal Shark Delivers Anti-Piracy Boat
38 Defiant Delivered to Atlanic Methanol for Security and Patrol. Metal Shark Boats has completed delivery of a security, patrol, and anti-piracy vessel for Atlantic Methanol Production Company's operations in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea. The boat is a derivative of Metal Shark's 38 Defiant, a platform already in use as a U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, law enforcement, and commercial vessel. "Metal Shark's capabilities extend far beyond the traditional patrol vessel, and the extensive customization of this boat underscores our capability to build our platforms to meet any security or government need," said Dean Jones, National Sales Manager, Metal Shark Boats. Versatility Redefined Powered by twin 380-horsepower (hp) Yanmar diesel engines and maneuvered with Konrad 520 outdrives, Atlantic Methanol's Defiant intercepts would-be threats at top speeds of 35-plus knots. The craft's extensive electronics array includes a FLIR Voyager gyro-stabilized infrared camera, dual Furuno NavNet 3D radar screens with camera-recording integration, departmental programmable radio, and a full engine diagnostics gauge package. A co-pilot's full set of throttle and shift controls provides unrivaled control of the vessel, while the extended cabin features shock mitigating seats, anti-fatigue flooring, acoustic noise-attenuating material, and sliding side-access doors with overhead spotter windows
Metal Shark Awarded $192M Coast Guard Contract

Metal Trades, Inc. announced the completion of YON 331, the second vessel of a new class of 14,000 barrel double hull fuel barges for the U.S. Navy. The 200-ft x 52-ft barge was designed by Bristol Harbor Group of Bristol, R.I. to carry either Diesel or JP5 Jet Fuel in five cargo tanks.
