Vigor Marine Purchases Marine Industries Northwest

Vigor Marine LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Vigor Industrial, has completed the asset purchase of Marine Industries Northwest, Inc. (MINI) in Tacoma, Wash. The transaction closed on August 9, 2010 and Vigor Marine officially began vessel repair and conversion operations the same day. Key points of contact for the company are General Manager Adam Beck and Ship Repair Manager Mark Donahue. Adam brings 24 years experience in the marine repair industry, in locations ranging from San Diego to Alaska. Vigor Completes Conversion of Barge Klamath

Vigor Marine, a Vigor Industrial subsidiary, recently completed work on Barge Klamath, converting the vessel from a petroleum tank barge to an OSVR measuring 350’ x 76’ x 22’. Quigley Named President of US Fab

Kevin Quigley, who built VIGOR’s Everett Shipyard into one of the largest dockside repair centers in the Pacific Northwest, has been named president of VIGOR’s US Fab division. Quigley will oversee all of VIGOR’s new ship construction including ferries, advanced Coast Guard cutters, barges, fishing and cargo vessels.  As US Fab president, he also will direct the company’s growing land-based and alternative energy fabrication projects

Vigor Industrial inform that the owner of Seward Ship’s Drydock has signed a letter of intent to sell the assets of the Seward, Alaska, shipyard company to Vigor Industrial. Seward Ship’s Drydock operates as a full service shipyard and drydock facility, in Seward, Alaska. Under the terms of the tentative deal, the Seward shipyard would join Vigor as a subsidiary of the company’s Vigor Alaska subsidiary.

Listed among the latest Department of Defense, Navy, contracts, Detyens Shipyards, Inc., is to overhaul and drydock the 'USNS Leroy Grumman' and Vigor Marine LLC is to carry out the same on the 'USNS Yukon'. Details as follows: 1. Detyens Shipyards, Inc., North Charleston, S.C. is being awarded a $9,654,055 firm-fixed-price contract for a 55-calendar day regular overhaul and dry docking of fleet replenishment oiler USNS Leroy Grumman (T-AO 195).


Vigor Industrial to Acquire Todd Shipyards

Todd Shipyards Corp. (NYSE: TOD) and Vigor Industrial LLC announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement under which Vigor will acquire the stock of Todd for $22.27 per share, or approximately $130m. The transaction is structured as an all cash tender offer. Under the terms of the agreement, which has been unanimously approved by Todd’s board of directors, Vigor will offer to purchase all outstanding shares of Todd’s common stock for $22.27 in cash per share

U.S. Fab, a Vigor Industrial company, has delivered the purpose-built vessel to Washington’s King County for the use of its passenger ferry fleet. The 140’x40’x7’6” barge features moorage for up to four vessels and two steel structures, one that houses a well-equipped maintenance workshop and the other a two-story office and crew quarters. “This was an interesting project that required teams to integrate two different building classification standards

Vigor Delivers Washington’s First 144-car Ferry

Vigor Fab delivered the Tokitae, the state’s newest ferry, to Washington State Ferry officials this week. The Olympic class Tokitae is the first of three 144-car ferries currently planned. It will enter service this summer on the Clinton-Mukilteo route. The second vessel, the Samish, is currently under construction at Vigor with delivery planned for early next year. State lawmakers have provided funding for a third ferry and construction is expected to start toward the end of this year

Harley Orders Two Newbuild Tank Barges from Vigor

Sixty-Five Roses is a 422’x 76’ tank barge with capacity of 83,600 barrels presently employed  in U.S. West Coast Trade under Charter to a Major Oil Company. Built by Vigor in Portland, Ore., the barge is of double hull design and constructed to exceed OPA 90 Double Hull Standards. Fully loaded she displaces 13,150 Long Tons DWT. She is certified ABS Maltese Cross A1 Oceans.
