New Orleans Spill Response Update

The US Coast Guard issued a Marine Safety Bulletin stating that the safety zone on the Lower Mississippi River has reduced in scope and now extends from mile marker 20 to mile marker 97.  Vessels within the safety zone are to proceed at the slowest safe speed.  The Unified Command issued a press release stating that salvage of the barge continues.  Clean-up of the lower portion of the impacted area is largely complete. (HK Law).
